...and they even speak English!!

So, here I am in London safe and sound. It is wonderful. I can understand nearly everything people say to me.

The last week or so was great. I was staying with a family friend Marco in Weimar near the middle of Germany. Lots of wondering around the countryside, checking out the local Bauhaus museum (Bauhaus started in Weimar) , cooking, sleeping and generally revelling in being in a cozy house in the middle of Germany in mid spring.

I am now staying with Katie (thanks chicken!!) and gearing up for my assult on London town. I haven't actually left the house yet (english speaking television ... ohhhhhhh), but they do not know what is about to hit them (and even after may still be in the dark, me thinks). In general I am feeling like I did when I first hit Sydney (young, stupid, excited and the sense that something large is about to happen).

Tomorrow KT and I are going to check out a temp share house that is just around the corner from KT's house which would be nice. We could have afternoon tea!

I don't have any photos of London yet, but I did take a snap when I was flying in over miles and miles of postage stamp fields of vibrant greens and yellows. Pretty and so overwhelmingly fertile. Fancy! Getting lots of rain and having soil! Who would have thought it was possible?

KT is a great host.

But is she making you sleep on the floor?

Hope that you get the temp share house and pity poor Brixton for you and KT are about to unleash! It will be the Tangles/KT spring of 06!

Well we will mainly be singing in the rain by the looks.
Chia is in marcus' room in his absence. She has to take my word for it that I did clean it for her (everything is relative), and there were a lot of tissues beside the bed, ewwwwww*.

*This has more relevence for those who know what we found in his DVD player. ewwwwwwww.

we are going to be total neighbouroonies, which in Brixton means we will be in before dark and dodging bullets, mainly.

xx.

Thanks KT. Even though you are in the same room as me, I will do this in blog form.

To everyone else ... KT and I just checked out a house down the road from KT's lovely abode. It is perfect and they want me to move in. First house called, first house visited, best house seen is a while. The gods are on my side, I'm tellin ya. This is a temp house til I get a job. I am going to try to be very nice to my gods in the meantime and hopefully they can help me there as well.

I don't really know how you be nice to gods. Offerings? KT if you start finding gutted rats around the house just leave them where they are. It is important.

I think what the God likes most is those "Carols by Candle-Light" spectaculars. If you can organise one of them, preferably hosted by a big-brother runner up, you'll be in the clear for years. Failing that, maybe you should invade Iran?

rats? I found a bag of fish scales sitting on the freaking boiler this morning - hence the unholy fish stench in the house! It was like one of those heated air freshners - but in fish flavour!
How did we manage that? I swear to you, the smell WOKE ME UP!
It was still a culinary delight anyhoo.
Man - the gods are not only smiling on you - PEOPLE - THIS WAS THE BEST FLAT IN LONDON. And just to rub it in £110 a week all included....The gods are GRINNING on you, and rubbing their hands together.

That is very strange... this fish didn't even HAVE scales. There is something very fishy(?) about all this!!

Congrats on your successful integration into British Society. May the gods continue to smile down upon you. The weather has improved, so i would say that the gods' mood has also taken a turn for the better. Good luck job hunting.

i would just like to point out the merits of having a Chia house guest. She bakes, she cooks dinner, she even weeds! Occaisionally she unexpectedly noooods up as a bed buddy!
Every home should have one.
