Unexpected happiness
I just got a nice surprise today. I dropped off a film canister yesterday that I had been dragging around in my little box of tricks. I didn’t expect there to be anything on it – but there was! It was full of photos from a solo day walk that I did along Razorback and Mt Feathertop nearly four years ago just after the bushfires decimated the area. Lots of photos of burnt trees and a few of them actually do justice to the crazy beauty and horror of the aftermath. This is also the last roll that I did on the camera, ‘cause I got confused and thought that the shoot didn’t work and blamed the camera… Maybe my SLR days are not done! Although, at $12.50 a pop to develop plus film costs the digital age does call.
In other news – I am SICK TO DEATH OF TALKING OR THINKING about furniture removal so I am not going to give you an update there. So I will focus forward. The excitement is starting to kick in (when it can get its head above the anxiety). Only two sleeps in Sydney, and neither of them in my house (bed goes today – DAMN! I said I wouldn’t mention it!). Last night was my last “sleep” in my bed. Quotes are because I couldn’t actually get to sleep for ages. I kept going out onto my balcony for one last evening look across the city. One last sit in my chair. One last trip downstairs for a glass of water, etc, etc.
Anyway – I will try to scan some of those photos at some point for y’all.
Have a good one! May the sun shine out of ALL of your eyeballs. That is, the eyeballs of you all. I am not implying that you are all a bunch of many-eyeballed freaks.

That's cool about the photos Tangles. I just bought an old SLR camera meself. You can't beat that clickety'click they make when you take a picture. You know that it is final - no deletes allowed. KT's digi one does make a clickety click sound but it's not the same.
But tis expensive as you say.
I hope that all the final preps get done with a minimum of madness.
Oh God. I don't even want to talk about it but can't help myself. The Salvos came today... Must have come while Wendy and I were upstairs with the Frangipani, cause all they did was leave a little calling note. Not that I don't like calling notes, but .. well ... I nearly cried. Actually, that is not true. I did cry.
Anyway, after picking myself up from the floor I promptly put the little sucker on eBay with a 1 day auction and a 99c starting price.
Fingers crossed? Well! What would you know! There has been 1 bid!!
Minimum madness? I think not. Somehow my madness lever has been set to "Rabbit"*
* As per lawnmowers and granny mobiles. If you don’t know what I am talking about, then you obviously never mowed your lawn like your mother told you to. Shame on you.
Fuck yeah. White paper finished. Beer needed. Today was a bit stressy.
would the 99 cents include shipping to Sweden? cuz I'm kinda looking for a new bed.
I don't follow your reasoning about lawnmowing and crazy rabbits. I'm sure there's logic there, but it's not our earth logic.
it's chicken logic.
the bed is NOT the issue. Leave it on the street if need be.
So many exciting happy awesome things are coming!
Sorry I missed your call... I was sleeping.
xxx.
i thought you were trying to sell the note the salvo guys left for 99 cents. Man, sometimes i am dense. Hell, most of the time im dense, but sometimes the density really comes through!
Good chatting to you the other evenaming madame, do let me know when you are in londontown. Good luck with selling/departure, try not to stress, it'll all be fine!
Ha!!! Big B, that is an excellent idea! Yes... the little calling card that says, Date: "NO ANSW" would just go down a treat.
But no, the bed is now "the little sucker". I shall call the note, "the little fucker" to avoid any further confusion. I actually might keep the little fucker once the little sucker is safely sold.
PS - Lil' Bro. It has been a long time since I have heard my pentax clickety click, but I do remember that it made a pretty nice sound. I am feeling alot warmer towards that camera now, so I might get it out again soon.
What is your SLR?
Forgive me for mentioning the bed again, but I just thought that I would let you know ... It has been successfully picked up for the ripe sum of $60. The couple that picked it up are going to put it in their caravan that they take down south for fishing trips. They have been looking for a cheap bed for ages, apparently, and have five kids and westy accents. I am happy knowing that my little bed has not finished its roaming days. Ever the itinerant little trouper, it is going to live out its days peaking out the window as it is driven around the coast. This makes me happy!
so... have you gone now???
Bon voyage!
May you bounce with joy through the hills and valleys of Europe's voluptuous bosom!
just a quick note to let you all know that i am alive and kicking. my brain is nearly fried from having to learn a whole lot real quick; but i m well!
“Hello SuperNintendo Chalmers. I’m lernding.”
Right a few things.
1. Bon voyagee.
2. The weekend we are looking at being in Amsterdamage is likely to be the Dutch Queen's b'day weekend - apparently semi nuts and street parties, I reckon we book somewhere to stay STAT.
3. I think you will only be able to stay with me for a week, as i have to go to France, but that should be good.
4. Bon voyagee (see above).
5. Love you.
6. Did you want to come to Lovebox? I will send you a link and buy you a ticket should you answer in the affirmative.
